FROM MORNING DRIVE JOURNAL
MAY 17, 2002
Yesterday was blue then grey,
blue again, then grey and cold. Today dawned blue but there is a layer of thin clouds moving in from the west. The world keeps turning.
Happiness doesn't look for you. You must look for it.
The mourning doves are thinking of love.
Out in the country, I can see clouds to the north and east, and off to the far west. The temperature is only in the 30s this morning. It seems like we've got more winter in May this year than January.
Peas in a field are thick enough now to hide the earth beneath them, a green roll-out.
