By the time you read this today
likely Mary and I will be on board a big ol' jet plane headed south to the island of Cozumel just off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula. We'll be gone diving and eating (in different proportions, perhaps - more diving for Mary, more eating for Tom) through January 15th. On January 16th I'll blog our safe return, God willing, and will let you know what my schedule of postings will look like for the rest of the month. My intention for January and February is to make MAJOR progress on the memoir I'm helping to write, "Peter's Story;" the upshot may be that you don't hear much from me during the remainder of January and parts of February. I'll have a better sense of where things stand once I've thrown myself into the task entirely upon my return; I will keep you updated.
In the meantime, even while I'm seventy-five feet below the surface down among some loveliness, the miracle of the modern computer server will let you read entries from my "Morning Drive Journal: 1999" on appropriate dates starting tomorrow. You'll see the Saturday's Poem feature each Saturday too. Watch for these.
While we are in Cozumel, I usually pop onto a computer now and again to check my e-mail. I may also take the time to post an entry here, but don't take that as a promise because a kind of tropical lethergy always overtakes me in San Miguel, what with all the water and sun and fresh air and the scent of lime everywhere. No doubt I'll be back here live on January 16th, juiced and ready-to-go. See you then.
Loved your blog. I will be back.

Bon voyage, Tom and Mary! Make the most of your tropical lethargy. Or, would that be least?
