Faith-based reality
is still alive and well, as evidenced by Vice President Dick Cheney's assertion that the disaster relief effort is very impressive. As if. As has been this administration's m.o., saying so makes it so. Yeah, right, and it's not gonna snow in L'Anse, Michigan, this winter either. "Faith-based reality" is that bubble W. and his cohorts keep around themselves so they don't get stained by the reality of the rest of us.
We can only hope that Americans are finally seeing though the bastard lies. Even Colin Powell is embarrassed about the local, state, and federal response to Katrina, as well as about his speech to the U.N. in the lead-up to the Iraq war.
Death squads and torture in Iraq? Say it ain't so, and it won't be so, Mr. President, in your faith-based reality.
When you got no room to wiggle, what d'ya do?
"I tell ya what," Karl Rove says to the President. "Declare a day of prayer."
Amen.
