Wednesday, noon
Bill Kloefkorn and David Lee presented a program entitled "Wild Men Who Catch and Sing the Sun In Flight." I was unable to attend as I had to go off and prepare for my own 3 p.m. presentation in the Whipple Gallery at the Library on campus. David Lee has published eighteen books of poetry, including So Quickly the Earth. His selected poems is called A Legacy of Shadows. Of course William Kloefkorn would do a wonderful reading, and people told me that David Lee was terrific too, and had them rolling in the aisles with a long poem at the end. I'm sorry I missed it.
No, I'm not. I had to get ready for me reading and there was no other time. It was wall-to-wall poetry all week long, if you can imagine....
Well, I was hoping you could say 'hello' to Bill and Dave, but I suppose we can't always get what we want. If you ever get the chance, see Dave read. I imagine he read "Incident at Thompson Slough" the way you say people describe his reading. I hope everything goes well for your presentation.
