Saturday was very hot
and steamy. yesterday was cooler. this morning is cool and moist. There is a grey cast to the sky; the birds sing anyway. It is a green world out the window of the house, the day is thick with trees and grass.
Mourning dove and peonies. I step outside. The day begins. I head north.
Wallace Stegner speaks of "clear air" being characteristic of the true West. I think some gauze of haze is characteristic of the middle west - moisture that hangs and hides the distance here.
The wind today blows from northeast to southwest.
Farmers have started cultivating their corn. There are blossoms on the peas.
