It's a hazy sky
with some blue shell trying to show through.
The frost on the windshield is soft, almost fuzzy; it comes off easily and flies away like peeled sunburn. It will be a mild morning.
Yesterday was warm enough to melt some snow and send water running in the gutters. There is plenty of snow left for today, however. There is a sheen of ice on the snow's crust, the shine of winter.
The flag at the cemetery blows west to east. In the country, it is hazy in the distance, an easy morning, but not too easy. Along Highway E the plow banks have melted away from the road. Crows overhead inspect the progress of spring coming on. A small vee of geese marks the sky.
For some reason, I don't feel rested. I go to work but today I don't want to. Exhaustion is more a state of mind than a physical condition.
