We'd been promised
a bitter weekend. What we got was loveliness - albeit a little cool, but sunny for the most part, no cold rain as had been feared.
It's a scattered sky - mixed of clouds, blueness, sunlight; it's a cool morning, a shine of loveliness, a freshness.
A pair of orioles at the feeder next door - they are at least as lovely as the day.
North of Fairwater, a white egret crosses the road in front of me; there is a pair of ducks, shadow and sun laid on green fields. A racoon dead along the side of the road; the long shadows cover him.
