Four tornado sirens Five inches of rain Water running over We are still here.
in half an hour,
then one again later.
No tornadoes.
on top of five inches
the day before.
the road by the dam
was stopped with
two truckloads of gravel
being dumped on the road.
I'm trying to find out
if any roads are open
between here and Baraboo

It was a heck of a

WE ARE STILL HERE.
Oh, good!

Thanks, Dave. I have to say things look much better today in the light of day.

Glad to know you are OK, what with flooding during your trip as well!

We are doing okay here, Marja-Leena. Though as you might notice I am not in Baraboo to do my reading this evening. Others (I'm thinking of Cedar Falls, Iowa) have it much worse than we do.

The creek is high again, and the sun is pretending to shine here. Thundershowers predicted for the next two days, beginning tonight...

Black Pete--I hope you don't get too much rain. You already had quite enough for a while when I was there. I've had some people get here by Googling "flooding in Thunder Bay," so you must be in the news. Things have calmed here for the time being.

Kia ora Tom,
I was directed to your blog via Beth at the Cassandra pages. What a wealth of things to wade through. I currently live in New Zealand, but grew up in Green Bay, and went to Ripon college for two years in the early 80's. Both my parents are Ripon alumni, and my dad taught and coached at Ripon high back in the early 50's after graduating. What a small world.
There are so many things I miss about Wisconsin and the mid west, though this recent storm might not be one! ook forward to more reading. Kia ora!
Ka kite ano,
Robb

Hello, Robb. Welcome home, digitally speaking. We knew some Ripon college students during the mid-1980s, but alas not you. Feel free to poke about here. I'm honored. And - yes - we've had a spate of storms, preferrable to hurricanes, however, and earthquakes, I think.
